Willow River Players present Dec. 7 holiday concert in New Richmond
The annual holiday concert for the Willow River Players will be Sunday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m.
This year the concert will be held at the New Richmond High School Little Theater.
There will be something for everyone: standard holiday classics and new ones as well, vocal solos, duets and some small groups will combine talent. The New Richmond High School Madrigal Singers will also be part of the holiday concert program.
The Friends of Willow River Players choir, will start things off with classic Christmas carols to get everyone into the spirit.
"This is our annual gift back to the community," said Cindy Brown, president of Willow River Players and coordinator for this event. "We have such dedicated community theater supporters and this is our way of saying thank you for supporting our shows every year."
Janet Ellinger will be the Willow River Players accompanist for the concert. Admission is free and refreshments will be served during intermission.
The group asks that attendees bring a non-perishable food item for the local food shelf. Through the generosity of our community supporters, every year the Players have been able to take a car load of food, as well as some monetary donations, to the New Richmond food shelf for distribution to community members who may need help.
"This year, we know that more people will be in need of help, and we are asking our holiday concert guests to be especially generous with their donations if they can," Brown said.
The New Richmond High School Little Theater is located at the corner of Riley Avenue and County Road GG south of downtown New Richmond.
