The annual event is open to the public and provides an opportunity for the nonprofit group to say "thank you" to the community for supporting theatre and the arts during the past year.

There will be a variety of vocal and instrumental music performances to celebrate the season with solos, duets and group ensembles all combining talents for your entertainment. The New Richmond High School Madrigal singers will also be part of the holiday concert program.

Willow River Players Holiday Singers will start things off with classic Christmas carols to get everyone into the spirit.

"This is our annual gift back to the community," said Cindy Brown, president of Willow River Players and coordinator for this event. "We have such dedicated community theatre supporters and this is our way of saying thank you for supporting our shows every year."

The concert is free, but Willow River Players will accept contributions for the local food shelf of non-perishable items as well as monetary donations.

"This year, we know that more people will be in need of help, and we are asking our holiday concert guests to be especially generous with their donations if they can," Brown said.

The New Richmond High School Little Theatre is located at the corner of Riley Avenue and East 11th Street, south of downtown New Richmond.

Willow River Players is a nonprofit organization which presents community theater musicals and plays. This year's productions were "American Idle: Murdering the Music" and "The Frog Prince of Spamalot." Currently plans are underway for 2010 Dinner Theatre performances of "The Queen of Bingo" to be held at Ready Randy's Feb. 19-21 and 26-28.
