Wisconsinites earning less, more in poverty
More Wisconsinites are living in poverty and those who have jobs are earning less than in 2003.
A report released by the U.S. Census Bureau shows that the average annual household median income dropped from $48,181 in the 2003/04 period to $45,956 in the 2004/05 period. That's a total drop of $2,226
The percentage of state residents living in poverty during the 2003/04 period was at 11.1 percent and that percentage grew to 11.2 percent in the 2004/05 reporting period.
More Wisconsinites have health insurance according to the report.
In the 2003/04 period 10.6 percent of state residents were without health insurance. That number dropped during the 2004/05 period to 10 percent.
