WITC students enjoy Winter Carnival events

The lack of snow required creative thinking for some activities during the Winter Carnival at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College-New Richmond, but students still enjoyed the events.

Instead of the traditional snow sculptures, student organizations painted windows in the student commons. First place went to WITC's Human Services Associate Club, second place went to the National Student Nurses Association, and third place went to the Criminal Justice Club.

Other events included indoor winter games and "WITC's Got Talent," where students got to show off their karaoke singing talents. In the talent contest Donna Schiller, Clayton, took first place; Kevin Carrier, Hudson, took second; and the team of Dusty Mattison, Baldwin, and Aaron Lily, Woodbury, Minn., took third.

In the annual medallion hunt (made easier by the lack of snow) Angela Ritter, New Richmond, and Lori Lazaris, New Richmond, found the medallion after just three clues and won a cash prize.
