Friday Library to host 'Make n' Take a Holiday Gift' event

The Friday Memorial Library will host a "Make n' Take a Holiday Gift" event from 3-4 p.m. and 5-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, with visitors getting the chance to make a holiday gift with Covet owner, Devon Driscoll.

"Covet features so many unique and crafty gift ideas, from artistic jewelry to clever cards and socks. Not only does she feature her own items, but also so many wonderful local artists. We thought Devon would be a great fit for the type of class we were looking to host," said assistant librarian Nora Allen. "We wanted to host a festive event that the community would enjoy. We also love featuring and promoting our local talent."

The event is for teens and adults, who will get to choose between two jewelry themed projects which they will get to make and take home with them. Registration is required; space is limited. To register, go to the "Classes & Events" tab at newrichmondlibrary.org, or call the library at 715-243-0431. When registering, select the time slot that will work best for you.

"December is the season of giving and jewelry can be a fun item to receive," Allen said. "Shopping locally is also a great way to give back to our community. Join us to make some jewelry and learn more about Covet."

Those who attend the event will only have to bring themselves and your "festive spirit and creativity," as all supplies needed for the two projects will be provided.

"We are so excited about this opportunity to collaborate with Devon and share her talent and creativity with our patrons and the community," Allen said. "We would love to work with Devon and Covet for more classes and events in the future. She has so many wonderful ideas that we can easily incorporate with other themes. Based on the response to this event, we will definitely consider more options."
