"Rainmaker" at the Phipps Jan. 11-27
Starbuck (Luke Reidenbach, Arden Hills, Minn.), a charismatic con man, offers hope to a Midwestern town beset by a severe drought, and to Lizzie (Katie Gherty McNabe, St. Paul), a woman whose life is at a crossroads in The Phipps Center for the Arts production of "The Rainmaker," by N. Richard Nash.
Other favorites from Phipps productions include Jim Reidenbach as H.C. (Norman Thayer Jr. in "On Golden Pond"), John Nickolaus as Noah (Henry Higgins in "My Fair Lady"), Tyler Haines as Jim ("The Nerd"), Keith Johnson as Deputy File ("Annie" and "My Fair Lady") and Woody Davidson as Sheriff Thomas ("Tuck Everlasting" and "Over the River and Through the Woods"). Performances are Jan. 11-27 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. as well as Sundays, Jan. 20, and 27 at 2 p.m. in the Black Box Theater. General admission tickets are $22 for adults and $15 for students of all ages, with a $2 discount for the opening weekend, and a $2 discount for seniors on the Sunday matinees.
