The North Hudson Centennial Committee is seeking recipes for a cookbook to celebrate the Wisconsin village’s centennial next year.
Anyone with a connection to North Hudson is invited to submit recipes for several categories which include: Appetizers/beverages, vegetables/side dishes, breads/rolls, soups/salads, cookies/candies, main dishes, desserts, and this/that.
The village is well known for its Italian-themed community celebration held annually the third weekend of August featuring Italian food, but recipes from any family ethnicity are encouraged.
“Anyone with a connection to the village in any way can submit one or a hundred recipes,” said Mary Wekkin, a volunteer with the committee.
In addition to recipes, the cookbook may also feature short articles and photos of North Hudson’s history, including the St. Croix River ferry landing, the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha Historic Railroad Car Shops that once employed hundreds, and the Galahad School for Boys among other topics.
People are also encouraged to submit any photos and family stories related to North Hudson. Submissions are due by Monday, Oct. 31.
