Measles outbreaks reported in Jackson and La Crosse counties

La Crosse County was not the only place where explosives were put into mailboxes in the last few days.

La Crosse County was not the only place where explosives were put into mailboxes in the last few days.

Neighboring Jackson County is investigating two cases of its own, including one at the home of the Melrose-Mindoro High School principal.

No one was hurt in either of the Jackson County explosions, both of which took place Sunday to mailboxes in the town of Melrose.

Officials said there was not enough evidence left to determine if they were homemade bombs.

La Crosse County sheriff’s officials say they’re working with Jackson County investigators to see if the cases might be related.

Three homemade bombs were put into rural mailboxes in La Crosse County Saturday and Monday. One of them went off. No one was hurt.
