Information about the elementary schools attendance boundaries will be available at the upcoming parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 6, and Friday, Feb. 7.
Parent-teacher conferences will be from 2:30 - 8 p.m. Thursday and from 7:45 - 11:30 a.m. Friday for all schools in the District.
District Administrator Morrie Veilleux said parents will find a more detailed map outlining the attendance boundaries, a list of frequently asked questions with answers and copies of the Elementary School Attendance Areas Policy as approved by the New Richmond School Board.
The School District newsletter, which will go out this week, also addresses concerns regarding the attendance areas as well as the reasoning behind where the lines were drawn.
The decision-making process to house K-5 students in each elementary building is also discussed in the newsletter, according to Veilleux.
Veilleux reminds parents that they will have a choice where their children attend elementary school, as long as they are able to provide transportation to and from the school for their children.
A requested school must have an opening to keep any one school from becoming overcrowded. School administrators will then make selections from a request list.
This request will be a “one-time thing,” according to Veilleux.
