The announcement was made by the Obama administration Tuesday.
That was good news for 90,000 seniors who save a lot of money through the prescription drug program.
SeniorCare had been scheduled to expire at the end of this year.
Just three years ago the state congressional delegation had to scramble to save SeniorCare when the Medicare Part D program started.
SeniorCare is easier to use with a one-page application form, offers better coverage, lower co-payments and is much cheaper to run.
