With the Pea Soup Days approaching fast (May 30, 31 and June 1), new events are being added to the schedule.
In addition to the motorcycle run/show (see related article), there will also be a dart tournament at Rendezvous on the patio at noon on Saturday, May 31. Must be 21 years old to enter and there is a $10 entry fee (with 100 percent payback). Pre-register by calling Rendezvous at 715-247-5371.
Some of the flyers have the Somerset Fire/Rescue water fight listed at the wrong time. According to Travis Belisle, Fire Chief, the water fights will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 on Spring Street -- the roads will be blocked off for the event.
The Somerset High School Dynamics show choir will perform on the stage at Village Park after the Saturday parade. The parade line up starts at 10 a.m. on the Somerset School grounds, with the actual parade starting at 11 a.m. Like last year, the parade route goes through Sunrise Drive, across Main Street, past the carnival grounds and ends at Veteran’s Park.
The fireworks at dusk on Saturday, May 31 will be provided by Pyro Magic Display.
The grand marshal(s) for the parade will be any Somerset alumni military personnel who have recently returned from overseas. Those interested can contact Kathy Land, Chamber president, at 715-247-3348 or at the Chamber office 715-247-3366.
