Dorothy Panter, age 76 of New Richmond, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at her home.
Dorothy Panter, age 76 of New Richmond, died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at her home.
Dorothy was born the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia Raboin on Aug. 24, 1931 in Somerset, Wis. She attended and was a graduate of New Richmond High School. Dorothy was married to Robert Panter in 1952, the couple lived in Kenosha, Wis. for a few years, then moved back to the New Richmond area in 1968.
Dorothy worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Holy Family Hospital and later as a CNA at Maple Manor. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and loved to go to garage sales and estate sales.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Cecelia Raboin; husband, Robert Panter; son John Panter; and brother, John Raboin.
Dorothy is survived by her son, James Panter and wife, Laura, of New Richmond; grandchildren James Panter, Jennifer Panter and David Panter; great-grandchildren Alexis Butler and Brayden Butler; sisters, Bette Rivard and husband, Richard, of Somerset and Annette Germain and husband, Vincent, of Somerset; brothers, James Raboin and wife, Louise, of Somerset and Noel Raboin of New Richmond; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Visitation was also on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at St. Luke’s. Private interment will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery in Somerset. Pallbearers were Joe Rivard, Price Rivard, Danny Germain, Kenny Germain, David Panter and Jim Panter.
Arrangements were with Beebe Mortuary of New Richmond.
