The historic lift bridge between Stillwater and Houlton, Wis., was struck by a lumber delivery truck heading westbound into Minnesota in mid-July. The damage caused by the truck required replacement of certain parts of the bridge and a steel straightening crew repaired affected areas.
The height restriction of 13-feet 2-inches and weight restriction of 40-ton is now in effect. The lift span of the Stillwater Bridge remained operational during repairs to allow marine traffic to pass beneath.
