Star Prairie ready to crown new royal court

Five candidates will compete for this year’s Miss Star Prairie honors at the Ox Cart Days pageant Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Miss Star Prairie candidates are listed below, along with some of their biographical information.

Erin Aherns, sponsored by Kirk’s Collision, is the daughter of Richard Aherns. The New Richmond High School student has two brothers, Shawn and Brian, and three sisters, Heidi, Amanda and Kelly.

Aherns isn’t sure what her future plans are, but she’s very involved in several activities including academic merits, yearbook, marching band and youth group.

Her hobbies and talents include photography, sewing, reading and twirling rifles

Future plans: Attend college

One sentence why you are vying for the title: “To represent my community and meet lots of new people.”

Kayla Grahovac, sponsored by Cedar Creek Inn, is the daughter of Jeff and Ann Grahovac. The Somerset High School student has three brothers, Mitch, Connor and Jared, and one sister, Brianna.

Career Ambition: Marine biologist

College Choice: Unknown

High School Honors/Clubs/Activities: Choir, Girl Scouts

Hobbies/Sports/Talents: Cheerleading, track, cross country, Girls Scouts, dance.

Favorite TV Show: Made

Favorite Recording Star: Do not have one.

Sports Star: Don’t have one.

One sentence why you are vying for the title: “I want to represent Star Prairie and to have an experience to try something new and meet new people.”

Diana Kleine, sponsored by Main Street Pizza, is the daughter of Mark and Kim Kleine. The New Richmond High School student has one sister, Anna.

Career Ambition: Nurse

College Choice: University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire

High School Honors/Clubs/Activities: Star Prairie Leo Club.

Hobbies/Sports/Talents: Cheerleading

Future Plans: Go to college

One sentence why you are vying for the title: “I want to be Miss Star Prairie because I want to be a positive role model for younger girls.”

Heather Kralewski, sponsored by Friendly Bar & Grill, is the daughter of Troy Kralewski and Missy Careful. The Somerset High School student has two sisters, Miranda (13) and Paityan (10).

Career Ambition: Lawyer or probation officer

College Choice: Unsure

High School Honors/Clubs/Activities: Academic excellence award, B honor roll, choir.

Hobbies/Sports/Talents: Singing and swimming.

Future Plans: Possibly join the Peace Corps but definitely get my life established, then hopefully get married and have kids.

Sports Star: Michael Jordan

One sentence why you are vying for the title: “I am running for Miss Star Prairie because I think it would be a great fun new adventure, with a lot of new friends and memories, but also an honor to represent Star Prairie.”

Morgan Olson, sponsored by Apple River Inn, is the daughter of Kathy Habisch and Mike Olson. The Osceola High School student has two brothers, Jeff and Brian.

Career Ambition: OB nurse or first responder

College Choice: U of M

High School Honors/Clubs/Activities: Dance team and French club

Hobbies/Sports/Talents: Fishing, dance, swimming.

Future Plans: Become married, have only two children, and hopefully succeed with my dream job.

Sports Star: David Beckham
