Four lawsuits filed in Chippewa Falls High Band bus crash

With the statute of limitations about to expire, four more lawsuits have been filed in Chippewa County Court.

The suits were filed on behalf of victims of an October 2005 wreck involving a high school bus.

Truck driver Michael Kozlowski has been sued 14 times, with two of the cases already settled.

Whole Foods, three insurance companies and Chippewa Trails Bus Company are also named.

Members of the Chippewa Falls band were riding the bus home that night nearly three years ago when it slammed into an overturned tractor trailer truck driver by Kozlowski.

Five people died and 28 were injured.

A jury found Kozlowski not guilty on 33 criminal charges last year.
