A Glenwood City man is accused of beating his physically-disabled wife as they argued over a TV remote.
It's been 16 months since the alleged incident occurred and Kevin Schreiber, 50, is just now being charged with two felony counts of aggravated battery and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
St. Croix County prosecutors said the woman's cognitive functions declined after the alleged beating, which was reported in June of 2007.
Authorities said Schreiber allegedly pushed his wife into a wall, after she turned off the TV while he was watching it. She had previously suffered head and eye injuries when falling from a horse in 2005.
Schreiber is due in court Oct. 28.
