Cody Ward, 7

Cody Allen Ward, age 7, of St. Croix Falls/Hudson, passed away Oct. 8, 2008 at Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul after sustaining injuries in an accident on Oct. 3.

He was born the son of Harlene Fitzpatrick and Thomas Ward on Feb. 21, 2001 in Longview, Texas. Cody was a second grader at Unity in Balsam Lake. He was rambunctious, always smiling and looking for a hug or kiss. Cody liked monster trucks - especially the Grave Digger, video games, playing catch with a football, swimming, and singing or dancing to country and rap music.

He will remain in the hearts of his mother, Harlene Fitzpatrick of St. Croix Falls and father, Thomas Ward of Hudson; sisters: Shayna, Ilisha, Cori-lynn; brother, Mark; grandparents: Tom Fitzpatrick, Victoria Heck, and Leah Jones; aunts and uncles: Veronica (Greg) Blackburn, Joshua and Crystal Dahlblom, Patricia Mantie and Judy Jones; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Ben Jones; and uncles, Brian Fitzpatrick and Glenn Allen Ward.

A funeral service for Cody was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1205 Sixth St., Hudson. Interment was in the Bunyon Union Cemetery in Balsam Lake.
