St. Croix Central schools are preparing school-wide programs to honor area veterans for Veterans Day.
The Middle School will have their program before the official Veterans Day. It starts at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, in the Multipurpose Room of the Middle School.
Area veterans and community members are invited to attend.
Groups participating will be the eighth grade choir and band, the fifth grade choir, the Hammond/Roberts Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts.
A special guest speaker will also address the attendants.
The Elementary school will have their program on Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. The public is also welcome to this celebration.
After a welcome by Rita Balluff, everyone will sing the Star Spangled Banner. The history of Veterans Day will be told to those in attendance.
Area veterans were invited to attend the ceremony as honored guests. They will say their name, branch of service and anything else they would like to share. Some who are scheduled to appear so far are Gary Snydock, Jim and MaryAnn Holupchinski, Del Johnson, Alan Stewart, George Bardner, Chuck Pizzi, Jim Bankston, Tim Olsen, Mike Gunderson, Eric Van Hecke and Jeramy Grezek. All of these people are family of either students or staff at St. Croix Central Elementary.
The program will be wrapped up by having a moment of silence and singing a few more patriotic songs.
