Top speller crowned at NRMS

Seventh-grader Dani Juhl beat out Joe Miller for the first-place title by spelling “squawky” and “nozzle” correctly.
She will travel to Woodville on Feb. 18 to participate in regionals.
Thursday’s championship round lasted about 20 minutes — the longest of all the rounds.
Other participants in the Spelling Bee were Jack Hop, James Earley, Maalik Moe, Cody Schwan, Elliot Smallidge, Jacob Postma, Noah Biniek, Kya Smith, Joey Leehmuis, Emma Buresh, Allison Paulsen, Tyler Peterson, Cole Hansen, Emma Rehnelt, Ethan LaMirande, Cody Russell, Chayse Ludowese, Kaitlynn Dilley, Darien Haugen, Cole Grey, Ashley Flanum, David Panter and Conner Richards.
