Families gather for Company B appreciation event
New Richmond's Company B, 1-128th Infantry National Guard unit held a family day on Wednesday, Feb. 18, to honor and encourage the soldiers and their loved ones.
New Richmond's Company B, 1-128th Infantry National Guard unit held a family day on Wednesday, Feb. 18, to honor and encourage the soldiers and their loved ones.
The soldiers are preparing to deploy to Iraq, leaving Monday. Feb. 23, at 1 p.m. to begin their year-long active duty assignment. They will train in Fort Bliss, Texas for up to two months before heading overseas.
The family day was sponsored by area churches and veterans organizations, along with area businesses and individuals.
The families were fed a free meal, and were treated to door prizes from area businesses, free family portraits, free massages and more. The families were later invited to the New Richmond Bowling Alley for some bowling fun.
