Kathryn Blose, 77

Kathryn J. “Kitty” Blose, age 77 of New Richmond, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at The Deerfield Gables in New Richmond.

She was born the daughter of John D. and Maria A. (Hunt) Shannon on Dec. 23, 1931 and was baptized March 27, 1932 in Easton, Penn.

On May 14, 1969, she married William Nevin Blose in Watertown, S.D. Kathryn worked as a custodian at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College. She attended classes at WITC to receive an accounting degree and worked for a trucking company in their accounting department.

Kathryn was a member of the Praireview Covenant Church and the Green Thumb organization. She was a passionate reader and loved doing puzzles and growing lilies. Kathryn was very proud of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maria; husband, William; and sisters, Margaret and Mildred.

Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Bob) Courter; sons, Thomas Hodgetts and Shawn Hodgetts; step-daughter, Barbara Heinbach; grandchildren, Kimberly and Matthew Courter; brothers, John, Edwin and Lt. Robert Shannon.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Prairieview Covenant Church in New Richmond. Memorial visitation was from 1-2 p.m. before the service at church. Interment will be in Pennsylvania at a later date.
