James Paul Demulling, “Jim J.D.,” age 58, of Grasston, Minn., died Feb. 28, 2009 at his home.

James Paul Demulling, “Jim J.D.,” age 58, of Grasston, Minn., died Feb. 28, 2009 at his home.

Jim was born Dec. 8, 1950 in New Richmond, Wis. to Clarence and Charlotte (Hotinger) Demulling.

Jim joined the service in 1967 and was sent to Vietnam in 1968 where he served with the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 1969. After the service, Jim worked at Andersen Windows and BF Nelson. In May of 2003, he married Ruth Bunce, and they resided in Pine City, Minn.

Jim was very active with the Pine City Wrestling Booster’s Club doing fundraisers and other activities. He also loved fishing on his pontoon and camping. Jim loved to spend time with his grandchildren and his favorite pal Sadie.

Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Ruth; son Timothy (Jodi) of Baldwin, Wis.; daughter Amanda (Chris) of Wyoming, Minn.; extended family Gregory (Lori) of Tempe, Ariz., Tine (Tom) of Grasston, Minn., Sunshine of Naples, Fla.; brothers John (Debbie) Demulling of St. Paul; Joseph (Judy) Demulling of Star Prairie, Wis.; sister Kathy (Dave) Kloetzke of Star Prairie, Wis.; grandchildren Brittany, Gene and Sara; mother-in-law Bessie Steele of Pine City; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Frank.

Funeral services were on Thursday, March 5, at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City, Minn. with Pastor Kenneth Janes officiating. Visitation was Wednesday, March 4, at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola, Wis. and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Swanson Funeral Home in Pine City, Minn. Interment was on Thursday, March 6 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Arrangements were with the Swanson Funeral Chapel of Pine City.
