Eugene E. Meyer, 78

Eugene E. Meyer, age 78 of New Richmond, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2009 after a battle with cancer.

He was born the son of Abraham and Madeline (Verniel) Meyer on Dec. 24, 1930 in Baldwin.

Eugene served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #80 in New Richmond. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Casey Excavating for 50 years.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wes Meyer and special friend, Helen Brickl.

He is survived by his children, Bob (friend, Barb) Meyer, Joyce (Rob) Boche, Cheryl (Ross) Fellinger, Randy (Denise) Meyer, Deb (Jeff) Ludwikowski, LuAnn Meyer and Mary (friend, Keith) Meyer; daughter-in-law, Terry Meyer; grandchildren, Shane Meyer, Dan (Sheri) Meyer, Shelley Meyer, Kimberly Williams, Matthew (Laura) Boche, Aaron (Traci) Boche, Crystal Meyer, Stephanie Meyer, Lindsey Ludwikowski, Dustin Ludwikowski, Pierre LeQue; great-grandson, Chase Huber; sisters, Lois Bub and Clarice Fern and brother, Leroy (Dorothy) Meyer.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Private interment will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
