Luella Rose Viebrock, age 88 of New Richmond, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Deerfield Gables Nursing Home.
Luella was born on July 23, 1920 to Hugo and Laura (Lutz) Kuske of rural Osceola. She was baptized and confirmed from Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of East Farmington. She attended grade school at Cedar Bend School of rural Osceola and graduated high school from Osceola with the class of 1937.
On Oct. 4, 1939 Luella married Carl Viebrock at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. They had three children; Diane, Brenda and Kevin.
Luella spent several years caring for their children and working the Viebrock farm with Carl in the Farmington area. Later she was employed outside the home at various jobs with several years at Stillwater Credit Bureau and First National Bank of St. Paul.
She was also involved with various church committees at Zion. Upon retirement in 1981, Luella moved to New Richmond with Carl. She volunteered at Holy Family Hospital (now Westfields), Maple Manor Nursing Home (now Deerfield Gables), and was again active in her church, St. Luke’s.
Luella’s special interests were; gardening vegetables and flowers, traveling with Carl and later girlfriends, entertaining family and friends, country music, dancing and following the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.
Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Viebrock, in 1982; her parents, Hugo and Laura Kuske; and infant brother, Henry.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Lloyd) Tinney of Osceola and Brenda (Ron) Demulling of Holcombe, Wis.; son, Kevin (Pam) Viebrock of Somerset; five grandsons, Scott Tinney of Osceola, Chad (Angie) Demulling of Medford, Wis., Corey (Kelly) Demulling of Chippewa Falls, Shane (Becky) Viebrock of New Richmond and Matthew (fiancé Jenny Rudawski) Viebrock of West Allis, Wis.; two granddaughters, Suzann (Mo) Mouw of White Bear Lake, Minn. and Lisa (fiancé Andy Tarras) Viebrock of Star Prairie; 12 great-grandchildren, Dustin and Danielle Tinney, Tyler and Sienna Demulling, Cal and Max Demulling, Chase, Haley and Noah Viebrock, Alexis and Zachari Viebrock, and Gavin Tarras; brother, Aaron Kuske; six nieces, one nephew and a host of cousins and friends.
A funeral service was held on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Richmond with Rev. Daniel Voth officiating and Loretta Kummerfeldt accompanying the congregation. Visitation was also held on Friday from 12-2 p.m. at the church. Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in East Farmington with Scott Tinney, Suzann Mouw, Chad Demulling, Corey Demulling, Shane Viebrock, Lisa Viebrock and Matthew Viebrock as pallbearers and Robert Schmidt, Robert Traiser, Merle Connors, Jim Hauble, Norman Kukowski and Dorman Tarman as honorary pallbearers.
Arrangements are with the Beebe Mortuary of New Richmond.
