Cedar Lake Speedway will admit kids age 10 and younger for free at all regular race nights in 2009.
“Everyone else seems to have a stimulus package right now so we figured we needed one as well,” stated Bob Kaufman of Cedar Lake Speedway. “I have four kids and it gets expensive to go to the movies, mini golfing, bowling or anything else. This offer will allow families to come to the races on Saturday nights and not have to pay a cent for admission for kids 10 and younger.”
Getting children and younger audiences interested and involved with the racing is the key to the track’s success in the future, Kaufman said.
In addition to the admission announcement, Kaufman indicated Cedar Lake is building two large sandboxes to entertain the younger crowd. Each play area will be 10-20 times the normal size of a home sandbox and will be loaded with trucks, cars and diggers.
In another announcement, Kaufman said Viebrock Performance will be the sole distributor of Goodyear tires in 2009 at Cedar Lake Speedway.
Kevin Viebrock, owner of Viebrock Performance, is currently one of the parts vendors at the track and will now have Goodyear tires added to his already extensive stock of race car parts at the track and at his shop located in Somerset.
This newly formed partnership still allows profits made from Goodyear tire sales to supplement the point fund in 2009.
