Bernard “Bernie” Leverty, age 67 of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday following a short hospitalization.
Bernard “Bernie” Leverty, age 67 of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday following a short hospitalization.
Bernie was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Shriners.
Bernie is survived by his daughter, Monea (Ryan Eskierka) Johnson; granddaughter, Isabella Paige Eskierka; sisters, Myrt (Lavone) Moe, Maxine Irons, Mary Potting; brothers, Howard (Shirley Earley), Morey and Jim; also many nieces and nephews.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Amelia (Simon) Leverty; brother, Raymond; sisters, Marge (Bert) Proulx, Marc (Jerry) Belisle; nieces, Erin Leverty, Sheri Irons; nephews, Scott Irons, Jamie Potting and Jason Dueholm.
He will be greatly missed by his family and his many fishing, golfing and hunting friends.
A funeral service was at 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Somerset, Wis. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Cullen Crea Funeral Home, New Richmond and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
