Twenty-six Wisconsin high schools have made Newsweek Magazine’s annual list of the nation’s Top 1,500 prep schools.
Milwaukee Rufus King got the state’s top ranking at No. 271. Brookfield Central was second in the state, and 315th overall.
Marshfield is ranked 347th, Whitefish Bay 492nd, and the Milwaukee School of Languages at No. 507.
New Berlin West, West Allis Hale, Grafton, Glendale Nicolet and Brookfield East round out the state’s Top 10.
Jay Mathews of the Washington Post comes up with the annual list.
The schools are ranked according to their percentage of graduates who take Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Cambridge exams.
The 1,500 schools on the list represent the top 6 percent of all high schools nationally.
