The Central St. Croix Area Chamber Ambassadors went on a tour of the Village of Hammond offices and facilities on Wednesday morning, June 10.
They started their tour off at the Hammond Police Department were Police Chief Rick Coltrain showed them around the police department and talked about his duties in Hammond.
Then they visited the Village Clerks office and met Kelly Brett and Mary Hemenway. The ladies showed the Ambassadors around the clerks office and explained their duties.
Next they visited Michelle Johnson at the Hammond Community Library. She showed them around the books and explained some of the programs the library offers. A tour of the library along with the upstairs space truly showed this gem of Hammond.
Last but not least, they toured the Water Treatment Center on the south end of town. Rod Turk, Director of Public Works, showed the Ambassadors around the entire plant including the parts that don’t smell or look the best. What an interesting experience to see what happens after you flush the toilet! All and all, it was a very eye opening and enjoyable morning.
The Ambassadors visit area chamber member businesses on the second Wednesday of each month.
The CSC Area Chamber is a member-driven business organization dedicated to promoting a strong business economy in the Roberts and Hammond area by advocating the interests of the business community and promoting opportunities within the market area.
The group holds meetings the third Wednesday of each odd-numbered month (the next being a golf tournament on July 15) and sponsors Java Jumpstart, a networking opportunity hosted by different area businesses, the second Tuesday morning of each month.
