Wisconsin farm property is worth about 3 percent less than a year ago, but it’s still well above the national average.

The USDA says Wisconsin farm real estate is worth an average of $3,750 an acre, which includes land and buildings.

It ties the state with Michigan for the 18th-highest value in the country.

And it’s much higher than the national average of $2,100 an acre.

Also, the government says Wisconsin cropland averages $3,650 an acre.

That’s just more than 1 percent more than a year ago.
