The state agriculture department has provided funding for drug collections at a dozen sites throughout the state.
Northwest Wisconsin has had several collections going for about a month.
Brown County will have its drop-offs on Friday in Ledgeview.
It used to be no problem to flush expired medicines down the toilet, or so we thought, until studies showed that they pollute groundwater and can hurt aquatic life.
Authorities say drugs should not be tossed in the garbage, either, because children can grab them.
The collections run through the end of November.
Dates, times, and locations are available on the agriculture department’s Web site, linked at Wisconsin.gov.
