The Somerset Lions Club, not quite 1 year old, has partnered with Econofoods to collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids as their first community service project.
“We’re planning on helping other existing groups and thinking about other projects to become involved with,” said Doug Briggs, police chief and president of the Somerset Lions Club. “We’re open to suggestions.”
The donation recepticle is located on the Somerset Econofoods Customer Service desk. Any eyeglasses, whether in need of repair or cleaning, will be welcomed. Used hearing aids are also accepted. All will be checked for prescriptions and cleaned to be given to people in need.
