Garness is a 2004 graduate of New Richmond High School and is currently enrolled at Johnson County Community College in Kansas, pursuing a degree in nursing. She is employed by Meadowbrook Apartments. She is the daughter of Brian and Barb Garness of New Richmond.
McKinney is a 2000 graduate of Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg, Kan. and holds a bachelor’s degree in religious studies from the University of Kansas. He is employed by Best Buy Inc. He is the son of the late Beth Haneke and Daniel McKinney of Baldwin City, Kan.
A September 2010 wedding is planned.
