Hundreds participate in ice fishing challenge
More than 100 fish were reeled in during Saturday's second annual Cedar Lake Ice Fishing Challenge.
About 170 fish were reeled in during Saturday's second annual Cedar Lake Ice Fishing Challenge.
There was one fish caught in the first year of the tournament, but tournament organizers made changes in an effort to see more fish caught this year. It worked.
The Ice Challenge was sponsored by the New Richmond Coaches Association. It serves as a fund-raiser for New Richmond athletics.
The grand prize, an Arctic Cat 4x4 ATV, was won by Hayvn Schwan-Shilts of Star Prairie. His grandfather pulled in a .395-pound perch for the victory.
