Clifford 'Cliff' Teske, 89

Clifford “Cliff” Teske, age 89, from Somerset, Wis., died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Somerset on Sunday morning, Feb. 28, 2010.

Cliff was born on Nov. 26, 1920, in Alden Township to Ben and Ella (Evenson) Teske. He attended the Star Prairie and New Richmond Schools. He entered the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne in the glider division on Dec. 15, 1942, and separated on Jan. 30, 1946, as a staff sergeant. Cliff was married to Jeanne Gowan on May 28, 1949. He worked as an auto mechanic for some 26 years, retiring in 1972.

His many hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, camping and traveling. He especially loved their lake home in Hayward, Wis. Cliff was fortunate to enjoy good health through his 89 years in which he had six dogs which he loved dearly. Cliff and Jeanne were known in Somerset for always walking their dogs. He cared deeply for all of his family and friends and greatly appreciated their kindness, time and attention… He loved them all.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Leona Kuhn; and sister-in-law, Betty Teske.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jeanne (Gowan); brother, Chester Teske; and his children, Tom, Brian (Sandy), Nancy (Jack) Petchl, Jayne Linder, Ann (Roger) Hefty; also his many nieces and nephews.

The family would like you to come and share some of your memories of Cliff at the Cullen Crea Funeral Home from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Friday, March 5. He will be laid to rest at the New Richmond Cemetery with military honors.
