Stillwater bridge jumper is helped ashore

Law enforcement responded to a call at the Stillwater bridge for a man who had jumped into the river.

Law enforcement responded to a call at the Stillwater bridge for a man who had jumped into the river.

The call came into dispatch at around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Reports indicated that another person jumped into the river to save the jumper. A private boat operator also was on scene to try and save the individual.

No further details were available concerning the incident.

Stillwater Police Department officials, Stillwater Fire Department, Washington County Sheriff's personnel and St. Croix County Sheriff's personnel responded to the scene.
