The National Weather Service has issued a summer heat advisory for St. Croix County and the surrounding area.

The advisory is in effect from noon Wednesday, July 14, to 6 p.m. tonight.

A heat advisory means the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.

People should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Temperatures, highs around 90 to the lower 90s are forecast for this afternoon, along with dew points in the middle to upper 70s.

Impacts, the heat index will reach 100 to 105 degrees during the afternoon hours.
