The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for St. Croix County, effective from 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, until 4:30 p.m.
Radar has indicated a line of severe thunderstorms, capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph, in the southern part of the county.
These storms were located along a line extending from Oak Park Heights to Newport in Minnesota and moving east at 30 mph.
Locations in the warning include River Falls, Ellsworth, Hudson, Burkhardt, Roberts, Hammond and Baldwin.
If you are in the path of this storm, prepare immediately for damaging winds in excess of 60 mph and large hail. Seek shelter now inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
Report any significant wind or hail damage to the nearest law enforcement agency for relay to the National Weather Service.
A tornado watch remains in effect until 4 p.m.Wednesday afternoon for southern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.
