UPDATE: Area fire crews help Knapp fight blaze
Fire crews from New Rcihmond, Deer Park and Star Prairie were among eight fire departments dispatched to a 4:30 a.m. fire at the Knapp House restaurant in Knapp, Wis. on Wednesday, July 14.

Local crews were called to bring tanks of water to help fight the blaze.
As crews fought the blaze, Highway 12 was shut down to traffic for about seven hours.
The Knapp House, originally known as the Trail Inn, has been part of the area restaurant landscape since the 1940s. The blaze destroyed the building.
The restaurant's owner escaped the blaze after passersby entered the building and awoke him.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
