The Milwaukee Bucks have signed first-round draft choice Joe Alexander to a contract worth $4.1 million in his first two years.
There’s also a team option for two more years, totaling $5.2 million for both.
The 21-year-old Alexander is a 6-8 forward from West Virginia. He was the eighth overall pick in last month’s draft.
Alexander played three years with the Mountaineers and he averaged almost 17 points and 6.5 rebounds a game last season.
Bucks’ General Manager John Hammond says Alexander will play mostly at power forward and he could also get time at the small forward spot.
Alexander and second-round forward Luc Richard Mbah-a-Moute worked out Tuesday with the Bucks’ summer league team. They’ll play their first game on Saturday in Las Vegas against the Memphis Grizzlies.
