The National Weather service has issued a heat advisory that will be in effect until 7 p.m. today (Thursday).
According to the Weather Service, highs from 90 to 95 are forecast for this afternoon along with dew points in the lower and middle 70s.
The heat index will reach 100 to 105 degrees during the afternoon hours, officials reported.
A heat advisory means that hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
If people are out in the elements, they should drink plenty of fluids and stay out of the sun.
Others should stay in an air-conditioned room and check up on relatives and neighbors.
