A Wisconsin housing rehab program might get back some of the money it lost when it was diverted to flood victims.
State housing administrator Jim O’Keefe told a conference in Appleton Wednesday that Wisconsin will get some of the $300 million Congress recently added to the Community Development Block Grant program.
O’Keefe, who’s with the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, could not say how much the Badger State will get.
But he says there will be, “significant money available.”
Earlier this month, the state diverted $15 million in block grant money to help communities recover from the June floods in southern Wisconsin.
O’Keefe said most of the $0.5 billion in damage from the flooding was not insured, and about 30,000 households were affected.
