Twelve first- through third-graders from all over St. Croix County gathered recently for the 2010 Cloverbud and Explorer Day Camp.
Camp was held at Mill Pond Park in Baldwin from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and was open to members and non-members of 4-H.
The camp theme this year was “Animals of the Fair.” Activities coordinated with the theme with sessions like egg catch, sheet painting, camp hoedown and an animal obstacle race.
The participants also got to do large group activities such as chain tag, hoop pass, parachute games and drip-drip-drop.
The sessions taught campers the importance of team work and skill building along with the emphasizing the values of 4-H.
Campers also had the opportunity to meet fellow members from around the county, as well as older members as their counselors.
Camp provided a great opportunity for older members to enhance their leadership skills as well as show beginning members the importance of volunteering through 4-H.
