The record-setting pumpkin grown by Chris and Amy Stevens of New Richmond came to an artistic end.
Professional sculptor, Scott Cully, carved a design in the fruit while it was on display in the New York Botanical Garden Oct. 26-31.
After carving, the pumpkin only survived a day or so.
The pumpkin, which broke a world record, weighed in at 1,810.5 pounds. The seeds from the pumpkin were saved and sent to Chris Stevens.
