The Willow River Players will be presenting a free holiday concert for the community on Sunday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. at the New Richmond High School auditorium.
The annual event is open to the public. There will be a variety of vocal and instrumental music to celebrate the season with solos, duets, and group ensembles all combining talents for your entertainment.
Willow River Players Holiday Singers will start things off with classic Christmas carols to get everyone into the spirit.
“This is our annual gift back to the community,” said Cindy Brown, president of Willow River Players and coordinator for this event. “We have such dedicated community theatre supporters and this is our way of saying thank you for supporting our shows every year.”
The concert is free, but Willow River Players will accept contributions of non-perishable items as well as monetary donations for the local food shelf.
“This year, we know that more people will be in need of help, and we are asking our holiday concert guests to be especially generous with their donations if they can,” said Brown.
The holiday concert will be Willow River Players first performance in the brand new New Richmond High School Auditorium.
Willow River Players is a non-profit organization which presents community theatre musicals and plays. 2010 productions were “The Queen of Bingo” and “Dearly Beloved.” Currently, plans are underway for 2011 Dinner Theatre performances of “Nunsense2: The Second Coming” to be held weekends at Ready Randy’s Feb. 24-March 6, 2011.
