Fire damages shop in Town of Star Prairie
The rural Town of Star Prairie shop of Michael Flandrick, at 1823 Winding Trail Road, was damaged in a fire Saturday at about 5:17 p.m.

According to New Richmond Fire Chief Jim VanderWyst, the chimney for a wood burning stove overheated and started the wall board of the shop on fire.
The fire traveled into the attic portion of the shop, but firefighters were able to knock the blaze down quickly.
“We got to it before there was much structural damage,” VanderWyst said.
The fire crew was on scene for about an hour. Also responding to the scene were the Star Prairie First Responders, St. Croix Sheriffs deputies and New Richmond Emergency Management Service and medic.
