A winter storm warning is in effect from now until noon Monday that could deliver about a foot of snow to the St. Croix County region.
A large area of heavy snow will arrive sometime late Sunday morning, Feb. 20. Some freezing rain and sleet is possible as the system begins. Roads could become hazardous.
As the snow picks up, high winds will begin whipping the snow around. Winds will be around 30 miles per hour at times, causing visibility problems for motorists.
The weather service predicts that parts of western Wisconsin could see 10 to 15 inches of snow over the next day or so.
Snow will begin to taper off tonight, but difficult road condition could exist through mid-Monday.
