The Glenwood City Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire early Friday morning in Emerald.

Firefighters arrived at 1557 County Road D shortly after 5 a.m., said Chief Greg Holden.

The property is owned by Al and Janice Fleming, he said.

The fire was contained to a section of the roof, which is where firefighters gained access to the house.

Along with the burnt section, the house also sustained some water damage, he said.

“There will have to be repairs,” he said.

Firefighters were on scene for until about 9 a.m., he said. United Fire Woodville Fire also sent a truck for support.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
