Vandals struck Star Prairie Township’s old Town Hall recently, causing minimal damage to the building.

The building, at 1099 County Road C in Star Prairie Township, had cut screens and a damaged lock, said Mike Burke, town clerk. Inside, obscenities were written on the old school’s chalkboard.

It’s unclear when the incident happened, Burke said. The damage was discovered on Monday, May 16.

The vandalism is the second incident at the vacant building in the last few months, according to a deputy with the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department.

Last time, glass windows were shattered before vandals gained entry to the building.

Burke said nothing appeared to be missing from the building. Cleaned out years ago, the only items still remaining in the building are some old voting booths, he said.
