Amery man charged with 10th OWI
The Wisconsin State Patrol arrested Paul J. McKellar, 43, Amery, Sunday, May 22, at around 3:11 p.m. on Highway 8 in Polk County.
The Wisconsin State Patrol arrested Paul J. McKellar, 43, Amery, Sunday, May 22, at around 3:11 p.m. on Highway 8 in Polk County.
The State Patrol responded to a cellphone call of an erratic driver. A state trooper was able to locate the car and arrested McKellar for operating while intoxicated, 10th offense.
The truck McKellar was driving pulled into the parking lot of the Apple River Hotel. He allegedly ran into a truck in the lot, according to the Polk County Sheriff's report.
The suspect was taken to the Amery Hospital for a blood draw after he was unable to conduct the field test. He refused to have blood drawn, but the procedure was conducted anyway.
He was eventually taken to the Polk County Jail.
