With golf clubs swinging, carts scurrying and the weather ideal, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College garnered more than $7,000 in its 16th Fun-Driver Golf Benefit at Bristol Ridge Golf Course.

With golf clubs swinging, carts scurrying and the weather ideal, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College garnered more than $7,000 in its 16th Fun-Driver Golf Benefit at Bristol Ridge Golf Course.

Monies raised at this event go toward scholarships and other Foundation programs on the WITC-New Richmond campus.

More than 100 golfers chose to play for fun or for competition in the 18-hole scramble. Jim Brockpahler of Lakeside Foods, a longtime Fun-Driver Benefit participant, says of the event, “A good time with fun people for a great cause.”

Besides playing the links, golfers had other opportunities to contribute to the scholarship fundraiser when they purchased tickets and bid on auction items donated by area businesses and organizations.

“We are very grateful for the golfers and all those who donated to the raffles and auction,” says Natalie Landgreen, WITC’s college advancement associate, who coordinated the event. “The golf tournament and upcoming Wine Tasting event at Willow Ridge Gardens are our two largest fundraisers. Numerous scholarships and Foundation programs have been created and funded through the incredible generosity of community businesses and individuals.”
